MARAWI CITY – A total of 377 beneficiaries from Lanao Del Sur including Marawi City received financial assistance and stipends during the payout activity organized by the Ministry of Labor and Employment on Nov. 30, in this city.
Under the Bangsamoro Child Labor Sagip Program, Government Internship Program-Ustadh, and Special Program for the Employment of Students, the ministry has disbursed more than P3.6 million for financial assistance and stipends.
107 beneficiaries of BCLSP received P20,000.00 financial assistance as start-up capital to finance their chosen business undertaking. By providing financial aid, the program aims to help the families of the beneficiaries to disengage their children from child labor and hazardous working conditions.
Meanwhile, 51 GIP-Ustadh beneficiaries received P14,850.00 to cover their 3-month salaries. The GIP-Ustadh is a special program for the ulamas in recognition of their efforts and services in strengthening Islamic teachings through preaches and dawah in the region.
On the other hand, 219 beneficiaries of SPES received P3,600.00 to cover their 30-day stipends.
The payout activity was graced by Mohammad Abujihad Sema, MOLE chief of staff and Norolain Dimaluna, supervising labor and employment officer from Marawi City Field Office.
