COTABATO CITY – The 20 registered workers associations from Maguindanao underwent 3-day Capability Development Training on Jan. 11-13, at the Citymall Function Hall, in this city.
Participants of the training are beneficiaries of the Bangsamoro Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Program under the Special Development Fund of the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
Moreover, these beneficiaries are members of the two Moro Fronts – the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Moro National Liberation Front, as the target beneficiaries of the SDF.
The SDF is a nationally funded program of the Bangsamoro government which intends to transform conflict affected areas in the BARMM into productive communities.
During the training organized by the MOLE SDF-Project Management Team, the core members of the workers associations were taught on how to run a business.
Skills in management and marketing, feasibility study and financial literacy are one of the important topics that were discussed by the former MOLE Director General, Eng. Dong K. Anayatin, being the lead facilitator of the training.
Deputy Minister Tommy Nawa who graced the activity, he said the Bangsamoro government is assiduous to deliver services to the Bangsamoro.
“Nagsisikap po ang ministry upang makapagbigay ng ganitong programa sa mga kasama nating ‘former combatants’ ng MILF at MNLF. Ito po ang kautusan ng ating Chief Minister, Ahod Ebrahim,” Deputy Minister said.
“At sa pamumuno ng ating Minister ng MOLE, Muslimin Sema, kami po ay nagsisikap upang maparating sa inyo ang ating mga programa para sa kabuhayan at kaunlaran ng Bangsamoro,” Deputy Minister added.
Meanwhile, SDF-PMT chairperson Ramil Roy Tiolo reiterated that the BEEDP under the SDF is a livelihood program of the Bangsamoro government where beneficiaries are given a start-up capital for their business undertaking.
Tiolo also added that the main goal of the training is for the beneficiaries to become empowered so they could able to sustain their chosen business.
After undergoing training, the 20 registered associations will receive livelihood assistance amounting to P150,000.00 in two tranches.
The BEEDP is one of the initiatives of the Ministry to generate employment opportunities in the BARMM communities through self employment.(MOLE-ICD)
